Research Focus: Dr. Sachdev-Ost’s research has focused on the role of danger signaling, toll-like receptors (TLRs) and autophagy in regulating recovery from ischemic muscle injury. This work has potential implications in patients with peripheral vascular disease. Recently, she has also been studying growth and functional characteristics of muscle satellite cells that are harvested from patients with PAD, to determine whether they can be used in therapeutic applications. Finally, she is also studying the role of inflammation in patients with chronic venous insufficiency.
