Eligibility Requirements
- Applicant must be a current or incoming UPMC resident/fellow or hold a current University of Pittsburgh post-doctoral appointment (Applicant cannot hold a faculty position at UPMC or the University of Pittsburgh)
- Applicant must be a US citizen or US permanent resident with a valid green card status (we do not sponsor visas)
Application deadline
- We will begin accepting applications for 2025-2026 in the Fall of 2024
Required Documentation
The following items are required as part of your completed application packet:
- Completed Burroughs Wellcome Scholar Application
- Current CV
- Letters of Recommendation
- Letter of support from a current or prior mentor
- Letter from current residency/fellowship Program Director stating that you are in good academic standing and that you are meeting all of the ACGME milestone requirements (if enrolled in an ACGME accredited program) of your specialty
- Letter of support from current Department Chair or Division Chief
