How was the Physician Scientist Incubator valuable to you in your research and overall career goals?

The BWF Incubator Program was invaluable to me given my career goals. Pediatrics as a specialty has definitely already begun exploring machine learning and predictive analytics. However, due to the fact, there is fewer data publicly available and fewer sentinel events, generally, these studies are smaller and less rigorous than many that exist in the adult sphere. The BWF Incubator Program afforded me the opportunity to work with an expert in predictive analytics and machine learning from the Department of Critical Care for two years, and the connections I have made are allowing me to take what I have learned and apply it to pediatrics in the future. This dedicated research time was truly foundational for my future career.
