Education & Training
Research Summary
I will be investigating intestinal epithelial biology and mitochondrial dysfunction during the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease, more specifically the role of cyclic-GMP-AMP synthase, a cytoplasmic pattern-recognition receptor, in mitophagy and mitochondrial biogenesis in the context of intestinal inflammation.
Career Goals
I plan to pursue a fellowship in Colorectal surgery and a career in academic medicine with the goal of becoming a Principal Investigator.
