Research Summary

My primary area of interest is the prediction of visual recovery among patients with anterior skull base tumors and visual deficits using high-definition fiber tractography (HDFT) imaging. I aim to combine clinical, ophthalmological, and imaging data to develop an algorithm and scoring system to predict those who will achieve visual recovery following surgical intervention. This work will allow us to understand the effects of anterior skull base tumor on the visual pathway and their recovery following surgical decompression.

Career Goals

My main goal as a neurosurgeon-scientist is to enhance our understanding of the visual pathway among patients with anterior skull base tumors and develop a predictive system to understand who will benefit from surgical decompression. These goals will also allow us to understand neurosurgical pathology, and ultimately, have clinical implications and change the way we manage such patients.
