How was the Physician Scientist Incubator valuable to you in your research and overall career goals?

The Physician Scientist Incubator program was invaluable to my development as a physician scientist. I think the most valuable aspect of the program is the networking not only with incredible mentors at Pitt and other institutions across the nation, but also with my peers in other clinical disciplines (pediatrics, psychiatry, CCM, etc.). who are also interested in becoming physician scientists.  Being able to interact and engage with these peers in our research has been a huge help and often offers a a unique perspective that I wouldn't have thought of myself.  I also found the sessions to be very helpful in framing our research plans and career goals as well as gaining practical skills, such as, writing specific aims and mock study sections.
